When we have the lowest tides of the year during June-September, the wave has swept the sand converge at this point cause phenomenal called “Talay Waek” or “Sand Bar”. It is sometimes possible for anyone to walk from Koh Chang to Koh Mun Nai.
To do this safely requires a combination of good weather and a much lower than normal tide during the daytime. This doesn’t occur very often and will be a memorable experience.
As a result of sustainable planning, our resort blends into the natural vegetation, creating an environment that has become a paradise for birds and butterflies. Our eco-friendly practices include restoring waste material, a clean trash management system and water recycling. A portion of the resort’s energy is also sourced from discreetly concealed solar panels.
We tend our hydroponic and herb gardens in which fresh produce is grown for kitchen ingredients, thus encouraging a farm-to-table practice.
Outside the resort, we’re proactive in the local community by supporting education projects, social activities and marine conservation.
Among the profusion of plant and animal life that populates the lush jungles that wreath Koh Chang’s mountainous interior is the Great Hornbill. They are listed as ‘Near Threatened’ by IUCN Red List.
Some of these birds inhabit nearby our resort and sometime feeding in our resort area. Those with luck may be fortunate enough to obtain a glimpse of this beautiful and elusive bird species.
Koh Chang is a year-round destination thanks to its tropical climate and warm temperatures. With steep, jungle-covered peaks, picturesque Koh Chang (Elephant Island; เกาะช้าง) retains its remote and rugged spirit.
During the dryer season from November to February, the slightly cooler temperatures and long periods of sunshine make it an ideal time for morning yoga on the roof; visiting temples, hiking, sightseeing or sunbathing during the day; and dining or movie nights under the starlit night sky.
The weather is hotter between March and May with humidity rising as the wet season approaches. Tropical rain showers may occur during the day. Stay cool with watersports, ranging from swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding to open-water fishing.
Koh Chang offers the greenest nature and waterfalls are the most beautiful during this time of the year to enjoy. During this period, it’s best to get out in the mornings, which can be spent swimming, sunbathing and exploring nearby. If there is rain in the afternoon, head to the spa for an indulgent wellness treatment. The resort’s organic garden is ready for harvesting so if you’re a foodie you’ll love this time of year!
